What's for Dinner?

So I'm sure like many people when it comes to dinner you have your signature dishes. Mine is usually ground turkey tacos, chicken with veggies, baked chicken with sweet potatoes, ground turkey hobo hash and just more chicken (grilled) with salad. So Jeremy and I decided to try something different. We were watching Shark Tank (reruns) and we saw Blue Apron, we diced to give it a shot. The way blue Apron works is they have meals set up and delivery options. We decided to do 3 meals a week that serves 2. It was about 70 bucks but we figured we'd try it. The meals we had all were pretty good. My favorites, were the roast, pot pie and phily sandwich. The other 3 dishes were meatballs with Polenta, shrimp and rice and a cod with mashed potatoes.
I liked the idea and it did give me new ideas for side dishes but, I'm so picky with everything I eat that I didn't really care for some of the ingredients such as watermelon raddish, polenta, mushrooms etc. but at least I tried it.
Another thing that I didn't really care about was the high calorie count in all the meals. Not one of the meals was less than 500 calories a serving. For someone who tries to eat clean and healthy, I'd have to say Blue Apron is NOT for you!
One last thing, I know a lot of women find doing the dishes is relaxing so if you feel that way then you will love making these dishes but, if you're like me when after you're done cooking you  have a thousand other things to do like grade papers, make lesson plans, do laundry etc the last thing you want to do is spend 30-45 more minutes cleaning pots, bowls, knives etc. But if you're the "stay at home" type of person where you don't have to worry about work, and getting to bed at a certain time or workouts and have an extra hour and half to blow then this is for You.
This one was my favorite but who doesn't like stuff drizzled I cheese?????
I made the pot pies on a day that I got home from work early, did not workout and I did not bring paper work home so I didn't mind the hassle. This tasted delicious, but I picked out the mushrooms and added cholula.
The hubs made this one all on his own, when I got home late. It was delicious as well I loved the mashed potatoes.

4th of July

Happy 4th of July!  Today ended up being an impromptu family day and it was so much fun. Since 4th of July ended  up being on a Wednesday we didn’t have anything planned since J had to work yesterday and will work tomorrow as well. So we were just going to hang out at my moms house, but then over a stream of text this morning we ended up making plans to go to Fort Worth and spend the day there with my sister’s family.  We stopped on the way @cousinsbarbecue it was our first time to eat their food and it did NOT disappoint. We ordered chicken, ribs, sausage and chopped brisket, along with fried okra, black eyed peas and slaw. The fried okra and ribs were my absolute favorite but honestly all of it was delicious. When you head to Fort Worth don’t foreget to check out  Cousins Barbecue We spent some time ...

Our Dream Home

October 21, 2015 When Jeremy and I first started dating we would go to neighborhoods and look at houses being built, and just imagine what it would be like to own a house of our own together. It was always one my favorite "dates" with him. we would talk about the specific changes we would make to the house to make it unique and we would pick other houses apart. Being with him and looking at houses always felt right. :)  A year ago around my birthday I remember Jeremy saying he found this community that was building Shaddock homes (which was always one of my favs) so I went and checked out the model home and fell in love. Then when Jeremy showed me the lot he wanted for us, it literally felt perfect.   I didn't think we'd actually be blessed enough to start the process of building a home and ending up with what is truly our Dream House. We both have worked so hard to be able to accomplish this goal that we reached out for and I thank God for blessing us with this beaut...

8 week Results

I’ve officially been taking Ketones for 8 weeks so here’s my update! Since my last measurements done 4 weeks ago I’ve only lost 1.2lbs but my total weight loss since starting ketone has been 5.2lbs! Which is pretty amazing! However I’m not too worried about the weight loss because as you can see I’m loosing inches y’all! In these past 4 weeks I’ve lost a total of 4.6 inches which means in 8 weeks I’ve lost about 8in total. I’m seeing results physically but let’s also talk about the other benefits, I still love the energy the Ketones are giving me, I only take one pack a day in the morning and can fast until about  11am  (Lunch time) , basically fasting for 16 hours. One day I plan to do a 24 hour fast while only taking ketones. I’ll let y’all know how that goes.  Sleeping has been amazing, and what’s crazy is I can remember my dreams now, although some I’d rather forget. My cravings continue to decrease, maybe it’s the fact that now I know how many carbs are ...
