Today was Chloe’s first day of School. We decided it would be good for her to socialize and be around kids a few hours a week, so we decided to enroll her twice a week for half days. I’ve been dreading today for about a month now, just thinking about how the drop off would go, how will Chloe be without me and so forth. It gave me the worse “mommy anxiety” but I tried to stay positive and hyped up the whole school idea for a few days leading up to it. I got her the cutest little outfit from #sparkleinpink and ordered these adorable cookies from #dotsandbows cookies for her teacher.
This morning I woke her up around 6:50iah bout 30-45 min earlier than she normally wakes up. We ended up sleeping together since for some reason she refused to sleep in her crib but as I laid there with her arm wrapped around me I couldn’t help but to smile and think, maybe this will be our new tradition; sleepover before the first day of school. (We’ll see how long that last). Anywho, she woke up watched Myppet babies had her milk then we were ready to get dressed, take some pics and head to school. She looked absolutely adorable in her school outfit, and for some reason decided to drag along her bears and her Moana doll with her everywhere hence why they are in all the pics. When we got to school I tried to stay as positive as I could, the teachers were all so nice, and even put on Moana music for her but when she noticed i was leaving she started crying and reaching out, so I just said bye bye see you in a little bit and left before she saw me cry too. I made it to the car before my heart sank and the tears fell. I literally swiped thru my phone and looked at the pics of her I took this morning to help ease my mind. I wen to the grocery store and the workout and by the time I knew it it was time to pick up my sweet girl. When I arrived to get her she was sitting down eating lunch but when she saw me she just balled and ran to me. The teacher said she did ok for it being her first day, she didn’t eat much but that’s expected too but that she did well and participated in their art project. Which made me happy. When we were in the car she said bye bye school bye bye friends.
After school we decided to go eat at chic fil a (her fav) and have ice cream, then we went to the park to play, I wanted to make the rest of the day so special for her and reassure her that “mommy will always be there for her”. We came home and played with her new toys (blocks, and Minnie Mouse puzzle) then she went down for a nap. When she woke up we spent some time watching tv and cuddling the had dinner. After dinner we went outside to play, she was being sooooo silly and riding around on her Mickey quad doing all these funny tricks, we played inside in her playroom and she showed off her hopscotch skills (she learned today) then we did our nightly routine. Before lights went out she put her head on my shoulder and said no school mommy, I told her no school till Thursday my love.
I know that drop offs will be hard for a few weeks I just pray that with time I get to see Chloe shine in school. She is such a smart and sweet baby, I want the whole world to meet her and be touched by her joy and sweetness. She’s going to grow up to be an amazing human being, and I hope that she knows that mommy will always be there to support her, give her hugs, take her to chic fil a and will always return to her side when she needs me.
